Benefit’s Bad Gal Blue Mascara
I feel it very necessary to have at least 4 to 5 different mascaras in my beauty rotation at any one time. So why not have a color or two in amongst the blacks and more blacks?! I’ve tried Benefit’s Bad Gal Plum in the past, but never their more popular older incarnation Benefit Bad Gal Blue. I got a sample of bad gall blue recently from Sephora and have been using it ever since. I am back in the habit of doing more colorful eye looks when I have time/am in the mood. Since it is football season, I do fun Cal blue makeup on Saturdays (GO BEARS!) and use this mascara along with the blue eyeliner of my choice (I have a billion). It darkens my lashes without adding too much volume and doesn’t detract from the blue look like a over-powering black might. It doesn’t clump on my lashes, but does seem to dry out a bit faster that some other mascaras I’ve tried and I usually have to do 2 coats. The brush is HUGE, but the tip is pointed enough to allow even your inner corner lashes to get some color. All in all, a fun accent mascara to keep in your lash stash when you’re feelin’ blue!

Go Bears! Last week was a bloodbath! Anywho, great review. I love colored mascara, though I have to agree that they tend to be a little more drying than regular mascara.

I totally agree with having multiple mascaras in my rotation- I only have a couple right now, but would much rather have 5-6! I know it’s a cult product- but believe it or not, I am yet to try Benefit Bad Gal… is it as good as they say?
I would say it didn’t live up to all the hype. It is fun to be sure, but not sure I’ll buy a full size one. But if you go to Sephora in the near future, see if they have it for the Beauty Insider gift!
