carmindyJust like most of the female population, I LOVE the show What Not To Wear on TLC. In college it was always on in the middle of the day, when I was getting dressed for class so I watched it consistently. I love how it empowers regular women to dress for themselves and teaches them about body appropriate fashion! But of course, being a beauty junkie, I love the part wear the fabulous makeup artist Carmindy does their makeup look. It is always super natural and lets their inner beauty shine right through. They look like themselves… only better! So when I saw that she had teamed up with Sally Hansen to develop a line of naturally inspire beauty products, I was eager to try it out.

The Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Inspired By Carmindy line goes along with the show’s theme of providing beauty to the every woman since its a drugstore line. The colors are all very natural tones, which goes along with Carmindy’s philosophy on makeup, and all of them are paraben-free. Most women could wear any piece of the line. I really liked a couple products:

sally hansen lip glossUltra Soothing Lip Tint: This lip gloss is more of a shiny lip balm, since it provides a ton of moisture. I like that it comes in a cute tube with a squeeze function, making application easy and wasting no product. The scent and taste is subtle and strawberry-like, though the website says it has pomegranate and cranberry in it (maybe my taste buds are confused). I got the Plumberry and the Clear, both of which are great, but I like the Plumberry since its has a hint of color. It looks (from the website) to be one of the darker shades, so I’d guess all of the ones offered have a fairly small amount of color, which I prefer. You could always use this on top of a lip color for added shine.

sally eye paletteInstant Definition Eye Palette: These little eye compacts are all you need for a complete eye look, each one comes with three colors that works together perfectly. One color for all over based/highlighter, one for the corner and crease and one can be used as an eyeliner. I liked the Ocean Eyes Palette. I did a pretty blue grey smokey eye look that worked great for day, but was pretty enough to go on to night as well. The pigment of the shadows was good and lasted all day with a eyeshadow primer.

sally powder blushNatural Powder Blush: This powder blush is great. Nothing particularly special about it, but I still really like them. The color Cherb, besides having an adorable name, looks very cute on me. The pigment is just right (not too heavy, but not too shear).
