I get more and more press releases about new natural cosmetics brands everyday, but only some really catch my eye. W3LL People ‘s tag line, “Hippie Tested. Diva Approved.” is very catchy. I love that they are trying to be both natural and hip. You don’t have to just pick one! They sent me some products to try from there line, since I obviously can’t check out their shop in Austin, TX… but if I ever make it down there, I definitively want to check it out. W3LL was started by three people, a makeup artist, a dermatologist, and a “tree hugger.” Who better to get together and create makeup and skincare that is beautiful, good for your skin, and good for the environment?
I like the concept they’ve got going on. They don’t use Parabens, Petrochemicals, Phthalates, Sulfates, Talc, Silicone, or Bismuth Oxychloride. And W3LL PEOPLE is carbon neutral and uses recycled and renewable materials and none of their products are tested on animals or robots.
The package they sent me contained three of their cosmetics products (pictured below), all in the cool vacuum packed zip lock bag, very industrial-cool. They call it thier Karmic Collection. All products can be bought from their online store, if you’re not in the Austin area.
The Universalist: This stick is universal in nature and natural in design. It is full of organic antioxidants and blends really nicely. I got a fun bright pink-red, that makes my cheeks pop! I dab the top with my finger and then lightly blend it into the apples of my cheeks, a little goes a long way. There are 8 different shades and they can all be used anywhere, think eyes, cheeks, and/or lips, for $33 each.
The Nudist: This lip shine stick as they call it is very moisturizing and gives a nice subtle shine. The color I got isn’t my fav, a bit more blue-pink a la the Eighties than I typically like, but I’m sure some of the more sheer, subtle colors would rock. It comes in 6 shades for $23 each.
The Narcissist: This mineral stick foundation is a great all in one concealer and foundation. The color I got was a bit too dark for my eternally pale skin, but I;m sure one of their shades would work (although its kinda hard to tell with the swatches they have on their site… they are WAY too small). It blends well and covers blemishes nicely. I would use this more as a concealer than anything, since I’m not a big fan of liquid or stick full foundation coverage. It comes in 6 shades for $38 each.
So find that inner hippie diva inside you, and check them out.
W3LL Lovely!
I might purchase their narcissist but I'm having a hard time choosing the right shade for me the pictures they have on the site are way too small. Maybe you can help my shade would be more on the medium light side, what number should I choose? Thanks..
