My favorite royal figure in history is Queen Elizabeth, both because we share a name and because she was such a bad-ass woman (who I doubt really did die a “virgin”). It turns out that we also share a love of sweets. Apparently, a four-day sugar feast was thrown in celebration of her coronation. The feast featured the sweetest art-de-la-table ever, complete with oversized sugar castles and marzipan beasts, complemented by the most inspiring tableware made of sugar.Yum! I wish I was there… except for all the poor hygiene and corsets.
