San Francisco’s TheBalm on MTV’s new show “Hired”
With the job market tougher than ever for recent grads, MTV has launched their new reality show “Hired,” a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to prepare for and (hopefully) land your first dream job at a fashion, beauty, or lifestyle company. The criticism is harsh and sometimes it’s hilarious, but it’s always constructive. You’ll be amazed at how unprepared most of these college grads are, especially after spending years in school preparing for their career. I for one had very little idea how to land my “dream job” right out of college… oh wait, I still don’t! It is all about trial and error for me.
On June 3rd at 4:30 pm, the episode follows San Francisco based cult-favorite beauty brand TheBalm as they search for a new office assistant. In the callback interviews, the three final applicants are asked to pitch a new product idea to the staff of theBalm. Apparently, someone impresses the staff while another leaves them a bit “shocked.” Inappropriate much?! This is an episode I will be watching (hopefully to catch a peak of my city!) and you won’t want to miss, especially if you’ve ever wondered what it might be like to work for a beauty company. I’ll have to ask my friend who worked for them as a college intern if the reality is anything like the “reality” show.
Tune in Lovely!
