I am cursed with super fine, straight, smooth hair. I know, sounds awful?! If your hair is like mine then maybe you understand how it is not so great: I have to wash it EVERY day or it looks like I dipped my head in oil. I can’t do up-dos without gallons of hairspray. And my hair always looks like I just brushed it: straight and flat and lifeless. I’m always trying to achieve the look I get right after I dry my hair and I flip it up side down: full of life and a little bit messy, in a good way. Some might call it bedroom hair or “JBF” hair… use your imagination please. But minutes later, my hair is back to being flat, straight, and boring boring boring.
My stylist had a great suggestion: Kevin Murphy’s Powder Puff. Not only is it the cutest darn little pink ball of a bottle, it really works. I do a couple taps of the powder right at the roots of my hair at the crown (not too many or my dirty-blonde hair become a little grey… gross!) and then rub and fluff vigorously. Pouf! It creates a nice subtle texture and with a little teasing, big! I can’t tease on myself but my stylist did a version of the Bridget Bordot pouf quite well on me. Either way, my hair becomes fluffy and messy without getting weighed down! A touch of it in my side bangs helps them from splitting in half too. And running my hands through the rest of my locks makes it a little more textured and playful. I love this little pink ball.
Powder Lovely!
Do you think this would work well for second day hair? I have the exact same hair type as you, but since I color it red, I would prefer not to have to wash everyday.
I think so! Its similar to dry shampoos but much less heavy.
This sounds like fun to try. My hair is wavy, but gets oily pretty fast. I also do love the packaging! Thanks for sharing.
The packaging is adorable, but is it much better than baby powder? I love dry shampoos, but I sometimes find myself going back to the original.
