Aveda’s April 2012 Earth Month campaign is set to inspire its network of beauty professionals and consumers in more than 30 countries to raise $4.5 million for the protection of clean water. For the sixth consecutive year, Aveda will partner with Global Greengrants Fund as its exclusive global Earth Month partner to provide grants for community-based water projects in more than 40 countries.
SHOP: The Light the Way™ Earth Month Candle that I posted about earlier this month features a stress-relieving aroma formulated organic French lavender. One hundred percent of the purchase price ($12) will be donated to Global Greengrants Fund. Candle proceeds will total $1.4 million when all candles are sold. And the carton was designed by the childern who these funds have helped!
DESIGN: Create your own clean water poster using the You Create, We Donate Facebook app, and Aveda will donate $1 to Global Greengrants Fund. Each poster created offers a chance to win Aveda Earth Month prizes, including egift cards for use on aveda.com. I did mine, it is fun!
WALK: Aveda’s Walk for Water unites Aveda’s network and guests in a series of walks around the world during the week of April 22, 2012. The walks cover six kilometers, symbolic of the average distance women in developing countries walk each day to collect water for their families.
