Go Green on the final day of Earth Month with Neutrogena Naturals Skincare Products and Bliss.com

On this final day of Earth Month, I am reflecting back on the efforts I took to protect the environment and our planet. I almost always bring my reusable bag to the grocery store, to avoid using paper or plastic bags. I almost always use a metal or plastic water bottle to drink water at work instead of drinking bottle water. At home, I use a water bottle with a sealable top because I can’t set down a glass of water and leave my eye off it for a second or my cat with knock it over…it is a REALLY fun game I guess. What did you do this month to celebrate Earth Month and protect our planet?

This month I also got to try a lot of natural products on my skin, since so many companies were promoting Earth Month. While I still think there is a place for some synthetics in skincare products, I like the idea of knowing exactly what is in my beauty products. That is exactly what the new Neutrogena® Naturals skincare is all about. Neutrogena® Naturals is a new line of skincare that aims to use natural ingredients that are good for your skin without using harsh chemical sulfates, parabens, petrochemicals, dyes or phthalates. And they are available at your local drugstore at reasonable prices, which makes them even better!bottle to drink water at work instead of drinking bottled water. Bliss.com sent me a Earth-friendly bag of goodies (pictured) and the full line of the new new Neutrogena® Naturals collection(also pictured) to try out. I was very excited, especially since I had already purchased the Neutrogena® Naturals Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover Face Wash and loved it. It smells devine, kind of like green apples, and cleans my face really well, without over drying or leaving suborn eye makeup behind.

All the other products in the line did not disappoint as well. I really like the Neutrogena® Naturals Purifying Pore Scrub. It uses Willowbark, a natural source of salicylic acid, to detoxify your pores. The texture has just a small amount of “grit” in it, so the scrub is gentle enough to use daily, in the shower perhaps as I am. It also has a great smell to it and leaves my face feeling fresh and clean.

I loved the Neutrogena® Naturals Multi-Vitamin Night Cream as well. It is chalked full of vitamins, as the name would suggest: B, C, and E. It also has anti-oxidant omega bionutrients, such as Inca inchi oil and Yerba Mate Leaf Extract. It smell great, feels super luxurious going on, but is not too heavy and thick like some night creams. My face feels fabulous in the morning, soft and full of moisture, ready to face the day ahead.

I also liked the Neutrogena® Naturals Lip Balm. More than any other product, I think that having your lip balm come from 100% natural sources is important and awesome. This lip balm has things like beeswax, jojoba seed oil, sesame seed oil, sunflower seed oil, olive fruit oil, and shea butter. Hey! I know what all of those things are! Which is great, because we all know anything we put on our lips goes right into our mouths and into our bodies. It keeps my lips soft and has a very subtle, not overpowering scent/taste.

My favorite part of the line is the way they list the ingredients on each product. Instead of a paragraph of text full of strange scientific names of the extracts and oils inside, they have  everything listed out. It has the name of the ingredient and then the source next to it, as shown in my picture of the back of the bottle of the Neutrogena® Naturals Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover. Doesn’t that make things so much easier? I would never have known that “Cocamidopropyl Betaine” is something that comes from Coconuts! This particular products has 86% natural ingredients, with the rest of the ingredients said to be essential to blend the product together and maintain effectiveness. I like the honesty of it. The labeling lays everything out there and allows you to see what is really going on in your face wash. Love it.

The Neutrogena® Naturals line uses naturally plant derived ingredients wherever possible, with the average percent of natural ingredients in the line being 94%. Not bad! They don’t test on animals, unless required by law or government authorities. They use up to 50% post consumer recycled content in their bottles and 100% recycled paper for their cartons with 60% of it post-consumer. They have partnered with The Nature Conservancy as well, a global organization dedicated to protecting natural sources of clean water for people, plants and animals. To top all that off, the whole Neutrogena® Naturals website is brought to you by a Green Server, a self-sustainable, sun-fueled and wind-powered server that only uses renewable energy. Awesome earth-friendly stuff!

So, if you are interested in trying a skincare line that is not only good for your skin, but good for the Earth, and won’t break the bank like some other high-end natural lines, try Neutrogena® Naturals skincare products.
