First up: Aveda’s Catwalk for Clean Water ‘Trashion’ Show on May 6th 2012.
Aveda’s April 2012 Earth Month campaign is inspiring its network of beauty professionals and consumers in more than 30 countries to raise $4.5 million for the protection of clean water — a basic human right that nearly 900 million people worldwide fight for daily. I posted about all the different ways Aveda is celebrating ans raising funds for the Earth here.
In support of achieving this goal, Aveda and the Bay Area Aveda Salon Network is going to host a Catwalk for Clean Water ‘Trashion’ Show. Their goal is to raise $67,000 to benefit the Clean Water Fund and the League to Save Lake Tahoe. All “trashion” presented on stage will be created by salon professionals using recycled, repurposed and eco-friendly materials. And really cool hair styles!
The Clean Water Fund is a local and national non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving environmental conditions, cleaning up health-threatening pollution in drinking water, and preventing toxic pollution from entering our water ways.
The League to Save Lake Tahoe is dedicated to protecting, restoring, and advocating for the ecosystem health and scenic beauty of the Lake Tahoe Basin. The organization focuses on water quality and its clarity for the preservation of a pristine Lake for future generations.
