My hair is very fine and easily weighed down by styling products. So I was excited to try Sebastian Professional Potion 9 Lite, a lighter version of their very popular Potion 9, made just for hair like mine, fine and thin. It can be used prior to heat styling on wet hear or just spray it on dry hair to add some light texture and style. It is supposed to be a little bit like a leave in conditioner treatment and a little bit of a styler, but not one or the other per se. It adds moisture back to hair and makes it shinier and healthier.
I found that even though it is “light”, I have to use it sparingly. My hair gets greasy/oily looking after about 12 hours, so I have to be really careful about products like these that add “moisture” or I can end up with a greasy lifeless mop. But I use just a little, before I blow dry, and it does give my hair some manageability and shine. I don’t get much bounce or volume from it though, which is usely what I want from a styling products. But maybe not always. I feel like I’ll use this when I want a super natural look without any fuss.
It comes in a smaller size, 1.7 fl oz bottle, which I will be taking on trips with me for easy simple styling on the go. The larger size is 5.1 oz for $16.95, available online and salons that carry the Sebastian line.
