I’ll be the first one to admit it: I am a little obsessed with Yves Saint Laurent. I don’t what it is but their high-end luxurious makeup is all I need to turn a bad day into a better one. Maybe it is the gorgeous gold packaging. Maybe it is the bright, bold colors perfect to get me into a summer fun-in-the-sun kind of mood. Maybe it is that their products really work, and aren’t just pretty things to look at. Not sure, but I thought I would share with you a few of the YSL products that I am loving right now:
I’ll start with the standby, YSL’s Touche Éclat, a game changer when it first came out and a concealer/highlighter pen that continues to beat out the rest by miles. I use this magic pen everywhere, under my eyes, around my nose, on my forehead, on my chin, all around my mouth. Amazing. There is no need for much foundation after this miracle worker is applied. Love. There no other words.
After loving my first Glossy Stain from YSL, I bought another one, #14, a bright blue-pink color. I would never have thought it would look good on me in the package. In step makeup artist to save the day… and she was right. I love it. and I’ve wore it numerous times since. Bright lips for summer are in, and this one being a stain, lasts so you don’t have to reapply over and over.
I was new to YSL mascara, so trying their Faux Cils was a bit of a risk, but I went for it, knowing that I might be wasting money. But it did not disappoint. I chose #6, a navy, almost green, blue color and I love it. It is a great neutral for my blue eyes, and really shows them off. You can build this mascara which is interesting, by applying one light coat you can get a fairly natural look. But keep adding and adding, you get a more dramatic look that is big and luscious, but without clumps and stiffness on your lashes that you would expect. And of course, it lasts all day without falling or smudging.
Another product I got steered towards by the makeup artist was YSL’s cream blush. This blush is basically fool proof to apply and gives you exactly the right pop of color on your cheeks that is super blend-able, which is often hard to do with a powder blush. It doesn’t just sit on top of your foundation, so it really lasts and lasts. I love this formula for summer too. It won’t streak or run when you start to get “glowy” aka sweaty.
There you have it, my current picks for summer beauty from Yves Saint Laurent. I just can’t get enough.
YSL Lovely!
