It happens, you know. Sometimes you just need to go to Sephora and buy whatever you damn well feel like. Well that is exactly what I did last week, after what could have been discribed as a rather tough afternoon. Retail Therapy we’ll call it. Here is what I got picked up:
Tocca Candle in Giulietta: This was the impetus for the trip, I actually saw some Tocca candles in another shop on Union St, but it was already closed. So I walked down to Sephora and asked where the Tocca candles were and pick one up. I’ve been wanting to try one forever, but they are not cheap. $38 for a 10.6oz candle, but it should have 60 hours of burning time. Now I just have to not leave it lit when I fall asleep… I’m a bit disappointed though, it is not a very strong scent. Barely noticeable at all. I thought Green Apples and Pink Tulips would smell fresh and pretty and help improve my mood, but it is a very subtle scent. Not sure I’ll buy one again. But it is a damn pretty candle.
The next was a gorgeous baked eyeshadow palette I found on the Sephora Brand display… but it appears they don’t have it online any more, or not yet, I’m not sure which. It is from their partnership with renowned French illustrator, Izak Zenou. The case of the Sephora by izak Baked Color Notebook is super cute, but what got me was the high pigments of the shadows and their fun colors. I haven’t stopped playing with them. My picture does not do them justice.
I also got a basic I’ve been needing, a single Sephora shadow in Universal Beige 08, correctly described as a goes-with-everything matte pale beige. This is a great shadow when I want my black liquid eyeliner to be the star of the show!
Then I grabbed a nail polish from the giant nail display, Nails Inc Neon Nail Polish in Holland Park – neon purple. So fun! I haven’t had a chance to try it yet, but it is definitely going on my nails next!
I cannot resist the beauty to go area in front of the cash registers, full of minis of products I love or want to try. Dangerous! I got a little mini of Living Proof’s Full Beauty Breakthrough Mousse. I love this stuff, especially now that I chopped my hair. I put it into my damp hair, blow dry with a round brush and boom! Instant volume and shape and thickness! I love the mini, it will be perfect for travel, like when I got to NYC in two weeks, but I may have to get the full size as well.
