My stapel spring look this month has been consisting of the same few products over and over, so I thought it would be fun to share with you these items I’ve been obsessed with this spring, and will continue to as the season fades into summer.
First off, I use very little foundation right now, it feels too heavy for this warm spring. But I have to have a good concealer on hand for any dark circles or little red bumps that pop up from time to time. BECCA Cosmetics Compact Concealer in Sherbet ($38) was color matched for me by the lovely Jo Levy, National BECCA artist and I haven’t stopped using it since March. I like that it has two sides, medium and extra coverage, since different spots and parts of your face need different levels of coverage. The medium goes under my eyes and around my mouth and the extra goes on those little devilish red spots. It smooths and blends to perfection.
For a must-have shimmery highlight on the tops of my cheeks and a little around my eyes, I have been reaching for NARS Illuminator in Copacabana ($30). This universal glow adding liquid is a magic worker, adding a hint of shimmer to where ever you want it. Just don’t go over-board or you’ll end up looking like frost cone. But don’t be afraid to shine a little bit either, dewy is in!
For my eyes, I am obsessed with my new eye shadow palette from YSL’s Summer collection ($52). #7 is full of gorgeous colors that accentuate my baby blues. I use the light pink shade all over my lid and the darker wine color I put on my outer corners, not don’t a full crease so the look isn’t very heavy or dark. To get an extra POP of color, maybe for nighttime I use the gold just above my lash line on the inner corners and the white as a brow bone highlighter. All the shades in this palette are super sparkly and make me feel ever so pretty and girly.
On my lips, I can’t stop applying Clarins Gloss Prodige in Rose ($20). Seriously, it is a problem. I am going to run out! This gloss is super shiny but has almost no stick to it at all. I love the long bendy applicator too. It makes application over and over and over again, fun and different from all my other glosses. The color is a super subtle pink, so it is perfect for everyday wear, or if I do a darker eye at night, this add a nice almost nude shine without over powering.
So there you have it, my makeup essentials for this spring and probably also summer, if I don’t run out of them first.
Spring Beauty Lovely!
