As I said in my first post covering Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, the colors in their Summer Garden Collection are a shocking mix of pretty spring neutrals and vibrant POPs of color. But that translates much more easily to the nail polish. At least most adventuresome beauty lovers have tried a green nail polish if not a green lip color yet… or ever!
I like a few of the colors in this collection but don’t care for all of them. I don’t really care for glitter polish all that much. I know, that is almost blasphemy for a beauty junkie. It just doesn’t appeal to me though. I mostly have an issue with the glitter never spreading evenly.
I created a pretty cute look with two of the OCC nail colors from the Summer Garden Collection though. I put Kava Kava – a creme beige neutral that is semi-opaqe with a slight shimmer on all my nails, and then use Copperhead – a brilliant copper glitter just on the ring finger. Not too bad, actually pretty and fun. Ok, maybe a little glitter is ok.
For another look, I just painted my nails with Clorophyll – a vibrant teal/dark green that is very opaque with a satin finish. I got tons od compliments on it. Very pretty though I think a bit dark for my springtime mood these days. I want to stick with brights right now.
The other colors in the collection don’t interest me much. There is another glitter, this time sliver, Arsnic, and two metallics, , which I might dislike more that glitters! But I have a feeling I might change my mind come fall. I’m not tossing these colors just yet, it just might be a few months before I am in the mood to wear them.
Garden Lovely!
